Hi there! I just joined. I started using MacCsound last week after I got tired of not being able to run Supercollider on my old iMac. I think I like Csound better! Seems kind of quiet around here. I think I will post my first piece over in the Pieces forum (why is it empty?) Mike |

Frontend_for_mac...?
Hi!
But, when it will be put on-line a new version of MacCsound for Leopard and for Tiger?
For example: apple mac intel (whit Leopard) has not more any efficient and free (open-source) frontend for Csound!!!

I'm working on a cross-platform front end -QuteCsound-, which aims to be a drop in replacement for MacCsound. I prepare releases for both PPC and Intel systems, and you can open MacCsound files with it (the widgets will come through and work, but will look slightly different.)

Improving QuteCsound performance
Hi,
Thanks for trying. What version are you using? There are several ways to improve performance. Using invalue/outvaue instead of chnget/chnset is somewhat more efficient. Performance is significantly better if you run Csound in the Terminal (External Shell), instead of using the API, but widgets are disabled.
Can you post the csd you are using? Is it very large, or does it have many widgets?
