I just downloaded the latest version of Csound on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.7) and I have been trying out CsoundQT, working through the examples. It's very nice - especially the widget interface - and the examples are excellent. However, if I use the virtual MIDI keyboard to test the realtime examples, it consistently hangs and I have to force quit the application. Has anyone else experienced this? The virtual keyboard seems to work fine outside of csoundQT - e.g., with WinXound.

This is probably some issue with FLTK, but all previous reports have been on Windows. In general usage of FLTK should always be done with run in term, as there seem to be too many conflicts when Csound is run internally. But of course, when using run in term the CsoundQt widgets will have no effect, so it works just like WinXsound.
A way to test the examples without a MIDI interface is to use the live event sheets:
